5) The Finished Product Braille-Tac™ LabelsThe Braille-Tac™ system, built around the the new label version of the Romeo Pro 50 embosser, simply enables users to Braille emboss and print text, if required, in a single pass thereby eliminating the lead time, minimum order constraints and origination costs normally associated with traditional screen or thermographically printed Braille labels. The modular system is the result of a 12 month ongoing development program and has been undertaken primarily in response to demand from Parallel Importers of pharmaceuticals who are now required to incorporate Brailled information within the product's packaging as a pre-requisite to being granted a license to distribute imported medicines and drugs. Subsequent interest in the Braille-Tac™ system has also been received from organisations involved in the production of talking books and newspapers as a means of enabling them to produce CD and audio cassette Braille labels, in house, on demand. Discussions are also ongoing with a number of printing companies seeking to produce and supply Braille self adhesive labels themselves, and they have expressed keen interest in the system. A comprehensive range of compatible self-adhesive materials is now available for use on the equipment including standard, heavyweight and opaque papers as well as white, gloss clear and frosted clear synthetics.
